| "The History of the O'Dwyers"Originally published as The O'Dwyers of KilnamanaghThe History of an Irish SeptBy Sir Michael O'DwyerFor those interested in a serious study of the O'Dwyer clan, the classic work was entitled "The O'Dwyers of Kilnamanagh", by Sir Michael O'Dwyer. Originally published in 1933, it tells the story of the clan from the earliest Celtic times down to the end of the nineteenth century, and remains today the most comprehensive work on the subject. Out of print for many years, it has now been re-published. The new edition is enhanced with maps and illustrations of the O'Dwyer castles and other places of interest. As an aid to those wishing to visit them, the map grid references have also been included. (Most have no direct road access and must be approached on foot.) A biographical chapter has also been added, covering the eventful life and times of the original author, who rose from humble beginnings as a farmer's son in Tipperary, to high office in British India. His life ended tragically when he was killed by an Indian nationalist at a public meeting in wartime London. As an aid to researchers, the index has also been greatly expanded. [ISBN 0-9534683-2-1.
